SAMEE Charity in Bournemouth receives cash boost to help lone parents set up business
A project to help lone parents set up their own business has been given a cash boost by Hendy Foundation.
The Bournemouth-based Samee Charity has been awarded a foundation grant that will help the charity work with single parents looking to become self-employed.
Charity Chief Executive Sam Everard said she was thrilled with the grant, which will help those in Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
“We are delighted to be chosen as one of the first charities to receive an award from Hendy Foundation and that this particular project can now go ahead,” she said.
“We have a wide remit in helping people become self-employed, helping others secure a job and working in schools to help the next generation of business people take their first steps in business with our education programme.”
Hendy Foundation Chair Rebecca said all the trustees had been impressed with the tremendous amount of work the charity does in the local community and its commitment to helping those in most need succeed in business or in the workplace.
“The whole team at Samee Charity have tremendous experience, enthusiasm and passion to help people and we are delighted to make a small contribution to the work they do in the area,” said Rebecca. “The charity is involved in a wide range of activities and their work clearly makes a massive impact on the communities in which it operates.”
Hendy Foundation is a dedicated charity to provide grants to local projects, people and charitable organisations in the areas in which Hendy Group operates. Hendy recently acquired the Dorset and Wiltshire-based Westover Group.
It provides grants to organisations in Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire, Sussex, Kent, Surrey and Devon with funding from Hendy Group, which is donating £2 for every retail car it sells, thereby being set to provide up to £50,000 in the first 12 months.
