The award winning Support And Mentoring Enabling Entrepreneurship (SAMEE) charity was founded in 2016 following a mission of believing in a world where everyone of all abilities can proudly and independently provide an income for themselves and their families.
SAMEE, a Dorset based level 3 Disability Confident Leader awarded charity, has three values which are Welcoming, Honest and Daring and has a team of people with direct lived experience of managing a disability whilst developing their individual careers. Our service is free at the point of delivery and not limited to ringfenced eligibility criteria.
Our charitable purpose is to enable people to explore self-employment by creatively exploring their ideas and potential with the ultimate aim of helping them achieve financial independence through successful business start-up and/or improved employability prospects. As part of that work, we partner with strategic partners both in employment and education sectors to ensure provision of the highest quality information, advice and guidance.
Our principal activity is to engage with those furthest from the world of work in a delivery style that encourages them and increases self-confidence and motivation. We believe that exposing people to the different routes into the workplace develops their knowledge, skills and ambitions which ultimately helps them remove the barriers to work that they face. The information, advice and guidance offered to our beneficiaries via our projects is always relevant to their age and disability, and is delivered in a format which is accessible to their needs.
