About Stuart . . .
I’ve got a BA(Hons) in Business Studies from Bournemouth University. I then had a few jobs including credit controller and stockbroker. I joined my father’s independent opticians business to help modernise the business and help with all aspects of running the 3 practices. Over the years I looked after sales, marketing, staff management, payroll, legal matters, book keeping and accounts. They were some of the best years of my life and it was a privilege to learn from and work with my father until he retired. Unfortunately for family health issues I had to sell the business in 2018 and since then I’ve been a self employment business mentor. It’s a role I absolutely love and it’s a pleasure to help and support people who want to start their own businesses. I’ve worked on the New Enterprise Allowance programme and also with the Work and Health programme, both as a business mentor.
