About Sam . . .
A dedicated entrepreneur with a flair for reaching out to vulnerable people in the community and helping them explore self-employment.
Sam is a dynamic and SFEDI Level 7 qualified business start-up advisor with over 15 years experience of providing information, mentoring and guidance for sole traders and SMEs.
Having founded the SAMEE charity in 2016, I am currently leading as Chief Executive Officer. The charity supports disabled people with personalised intensive self-employment guidance, through one-to-one confidential mentoring support, to help build the confidence of clients to either start a self-employed role or develop their employability skills and improve their chances of finding suitable and sustainable employment.
Our work is designed to help narrow the disability employment gap by supporting people with multiple disabilities, learning difficulties and/or autism to explore non-traditional forms of employment that will effectively fit around their learning needs.
SAMEE is a Level 3 Disability Confident Leader with a proven track record of achievement for making a huge local social impact with small-scale targeted projects.
To support the role, I am the Chair of the South West Regional Stakeholder Network for the Disability Unit in Cabinet Office and studying towards a PhD with the Centre of Seldom Heard Voices, Faculty of Health and Social Sciences at Bournemouth University.
